If you can make it to Lancaster, Pennsylvania this Mother’s Day weekend, there is a great opportunity to use your big rig for a good cause.
The 29th annual Make-A-Wish Mother’s Day Truck Convoy is Sunday, May 13, and helps raise awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish® Philadelphia, Northern Delaware & Susquehanna Valley. It’s a day filled with fun for the entire family and all of the money raised stays locally and goes directly to the kids they serve.
The event continues to grow and is expecting more than 600 trucks this year. The top 30 fund raisers from 2017 will lead the convoy, with the driver that raises the most taking the honored first truck position. Many drivers will have the distinguished opportunity of having a Wish Child ride with them in the convoy.
This year’s Convoy, whose theme is “26 Miles – 50 Wishes” hopes to raise $500,000, which would be enough to grant 50 wishes to 50 children within the Chapter’s territory.
Drivers are asked to donate or raise a minimum of $100.
There will be a carnival from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with games, music, and food. The convoy begins at 1:30 p.m. and travels 52 miles round-trip.
RoadPro is the event’s title sponsor and will also donate a prize pack valued at over $500 to be raffled off during the Convoy Carnival with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish organization. Each year many of the RoadPro Pro Council members also participate and donate to the convoy, including Henry Albert, who will present the $25,000 check to the Make-A-Wish team on behalf of RoadPro and the trucking community.
