Hundreds of tow truck drivers caravaned in honor of Daniel Coady Jr., a tow truck driver killed on Interstate 495 in Massachusetts on March 14.
More than 400 truck drivers from all over New England met at a mall parking lot Wednesday. The funeral procession went from the parking lot to the Funeral Home in North Andover.
Coady, 41, was killed when he responded to a crash on I-495 in Andover. He was next to his truck in the breakdown lane loading a vehicle onto his flatbed.
The long-time tow truck driver was then struck by another vehicle, in which the driver has been charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence, speeding, failure to wear a seatbelt and obstructing a stationary emergency vehicle.
